Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated had its humble beginnings as the vision of nine college students on the campus of Howard University in 1908. Since then, the sorority has flourished into a globally-impactful organization of nearly 300,000 college-trained members, bound by the bonds of sisterhood and empowered by a commitment to servant-leadership that is both domestic and international in its scope.

Welcome to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Orlando Chapter's webpage.

Greetings,

I am honored to extend salutations on behalf of the Delta Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. I am delighted to serve as the 2022 president of this historical chapter in the Orlando community. From her inception in 1947, Delta Omicron Omega has serviced Orlando, Florida, and the surrounding areas. We are legendary for programming with a focus on decreasing health disparities, emphasizing education, and have an acute awareness of the social action needs of our community while creating a greater society, advocating equity for all.

Established in 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, is dedicated to service, achievement, scholarship, and promoting sisterly love. Our 30th International President, Dr. Glenda Baskin Glover, provides leadership under the platform, Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service. This platform highlights community service in the following five target areas:

  • HBCU for Life: A Call to Action
  • Women’s Healthcare and Wellness
  • Building your Economic Legacy
  • The Arts
  • Global Impact

We are honored by the work completed with The Petals of Hope Foundation, Incorporated. Through our foundation, we have provided a plethora of academic scholarships, subsidized over $50,000 to Advent Health in support of our Transport to Care Fund, and held our annual Senior Luncheon, The Day of Love. We encourage you to visit the website at www.petalsofhope.org

Standing on the legacy of over 75 years of brilliance, the Delta Omicron Omega Chapter will continue to deliver phenomenal service to our beloved community. Our chapter is enhancing our corporate and local partnerships, diligently fulfilling our initiatives, and perpetuating sisterly love.

We are overjoyed that you have taken the time to visit our website. We are honored to share the 2022 initiatives of our chapter as we continue to be supreme in service to all mankind.

Welcome to the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Orlando Chapter's webpage.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has been an exemplary organization for over 114 years. It has served the African American community and abroad with the ultimate purpose of service to all mankind.

As the President of the Orlando chapter (Delta Omicron Omega-ΔΟΩ), it is my pleasure and great honor to continue that service to Orlando and the surrounding areas. Our chapter has been a beacon to the community since 1947 and continues to lead the way in providing programs of service.  The Orlando Chapter promotes all of the programs of our International organization and our current International President's five program targets by "Exemplifying Excellence Through Sustainable Service".

Target 1: HBCU for Life: A Call to Action
Signature Program:#CAPSM

Target 2: Women’s Healthcare and Wellness

Target 3: Building Your Economic Legacy

Target 4: The Arts!

Target 5: Global Impact

Our chapter's signature programs include: Charmettes Teen Club of Orlando - our mentoring program for middle and high school girls; Hiawassee Elementary School - Weekend Feed the Children Project; and Orlando Union Rescue Mission - Partnership. Through our Petals of Hope Foundation, we sponsor a Senior Luncheon serving over 350 senior citizens; our Taste the Hope program provides Transport to Care for women with breast cancer who can't afford transportation to medical appointments; and five scholarships to qualifying high school seniors.

As we follow the theme of "Walk in Love, Serve In Love, Be Sisterly in Love, it is my hope and prayer that with the help of over 244 members of our chapter, we will indeed provide service to all mankind.

Sincerely,

Dr. Felecia A. Boyd, Ed.D.
President
