2022 Scholarship Program

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the first black Greek letter organization, was established in 1908. The sorority was founded on the principals of service to all mankind.  The first scholarship was presented in 1914, on the belief that if we assist young people in their effort to acquire an education, they will use their skills and knowledge to help others.

Delta Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. has been in existence since 1947.  Continuing with the Alpha Kappa Alpha beliefs throughout the past 74 years, Delta Omicron Omega has awarded thousands of dollars to graduating high school seniors who will be pursuing higher education.  The Delta Omicron Omega Chapter scholarships are available to young ladies graduating from high school.  Through the years, the scholarship amount and criteria have varied.  Currently, over half of the awarded scholarships will support a young lady attending a Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

This year, Petals of Hope Foundation, with Delta Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will award scholarships to five young ladies who will be graduating from the Orange or Osceola County School Districts attending an accredited college or university in the Fall of 2022.  Each student will receive a scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 to help defray the cost of their post-secondary education.

Interested high school seniors should review the 2022 Scholarship Letter  to determine eligibility.  The application deadline is March 4, 2022.
